Mumbai vs Vidarbha: The final match of Ranji Trophy 2023-24 is being played between Mumbai and Vidarbha from Sunday. Vidarbha won the toss and decided to bowl first. During this, Prithvi Shaw and Bhupen Lalwani opened for Mumbai. Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane and Shreyas Iyer could not do anything special for the team. Rahane and Iyer were out after scoring 7-7 runs in the first innings. Mumbai had lost 8 wickets on the score of 176 runs.
Shreyas Iyer has been a continuous flop in the last few matches. He could not do anything special in this match also. Iyer came to bat at number 5. During this period, facing 15 balls, he hit one four and scored 7 runs. Iyer was dismissed by Umesh Yadav. Earlier, Iyer was out after scoring just 3 runs against Tamil Nadu. He also played two test matches for India against England. During this, he was out after scoring 27 runs and 29 runs in Visakhapatnam. He returned to the pavilion after scoring 35 runs and 13 runs in Hyderabad.
Captain Rahane was out after scoring just 7 runs.
The last few matches have not been easy for Ajinkya Rahane also. He came to bat at number 4 in the final. During this, he was out after scoring 7 runs in 35 balls. Harsh Dubey showed Rahane the way to the pavilion. Earlier, Rahane was out after scoring 19 runs against Tamil Nadu. Was out on zero in an innings against Baroda. In another innings he was gone after scoring 3 runs. Rahane was able to score only 22 runs against Assam. He scored a half-century in an innings against Chhattisgarh.
Shardul saved Mumbai’s shame –
Mumbai had lost 9 wickets in the first innings on the score of 218 runs. Opener Prithvi Shaw was out after scoring 46 runs in 63 balls. He had hit 5 fours. Lalwani was out after scoring 37 runs. Musheer Khan returned to the pavilion after scoring 6 runs. Hardik Tamore could score only 5 runs. Shams Mulani contributed 13 runs. Shardul Thakur saved the team’s honour.
